To all my family and friends,

I am heartbroken, saddened and feel helpless by everything that is going on globally. From people who have suffered from this disease physically, emotionally and financially to those who have lost loved ones without holding their hands and going through excruciating mental agony of not being there. The only thing that is left is hope and love. My intimate circle of friends lost two of their loved one’s last month and I’m sitting here holding on to every hope that my mom will pull through after being tested positive. I choose to hold on to hope and help others. That’s all I can do.

I know there are millions of causes and places that desperately need help. My cause is Manos Unidas, the organization that helps forgotten disabled children of Peru, where hope and laughter is given to ones who otherwise would have nothing. Because of the global economic crisis this school is on the verge of closing. If you don’t have a cause or if you have any means to help, please join me in the fight to keep these children and families alive, educated, and with the tools they need to thrive each day.

Manos Unidas Peru' mission is to improve the quality of life of children and youth with disabilities. We offer affordable sliding scale tuition to all families, giving children with disabilities access to quality education and therapies. But now, MUP’s main revenue source will dissolve given the financial hardship families are facing because of the global coronavirus pandemic. We refuse to discriminate and provide access to MUP's services to only those who can pay. To provide support for the 71 Manos Unidas students for reminder of the 2020 school year we need to raise $50,000.
